Changing Exam Times Due to Conflicts

The exam schedule for each semester is carefully planned to ensure that students do not have conflicts between exams in mandatory courses. Additionally, on-campus exams must be distributed throughout the exam period to ensure sufficient room capacity.

Therefore, it is often difficult or impossible to reschedule an exam during the exam period. The main reasons for this are that it is nearly impossible to find a new time slot within the period where none of the students have conflicts with other exams, or that there is insufficient room capacity. Any new exam time must also suit the instructor.

If a time for a written exam needs to be changed, this must be arranged as soon as the student(s) become aware of the problem. Attempts to make changes must occur after the registration deadline and well before the withdrawal deadline for the exam in question, see the academic calendar. It is a requirement that all students registered for the course in question must give their written consent.

Proposed new exam times must fall within the established exam period. Contact timeplan@nmbu.no to find out if there are any days/times when it might be possible to reschedule the exam. Exam times for large courses (many registered students) will generally not be able to be changed.
