About this course
Lectures: law of contracts, contract interpretation, law of companies. There will be voluntary assignments with review in plenary.
Learning outcome
The course should provide the students with an understanding of how contracts are used in practice and give an overview of the most common types of companies in Norway. The students should become able to systemise and solve legal problems that arise in the most common types of contracts. The students should acquire a good understanding of how contracts are made and how they are interpreted in interaction with texts of a statute. Thet should acquire an understanding of how different types of companies function, especially with regard to distribution of responsibility, organisation and representation in agreements. The students should acquire a good understanding of the company type AS (Private limited company), and become familiar with ASA (Public limited company), ANS (General partnership) and DA. The students should acquire a good understanding of the rules on breach of contract, hereunder defects, delays, complaints, cancellation and compensation.
