Learning outcome
1. Knowledge
After completing the course, the student has knowledge and understanding of fundamental environmental law, such as the Planning and Building Act, the Pollution Control Act, the Natural Diversity Act and the Water Resources Act, The student has knowledge of the subject area's history, traditions, uniqueness and place in society, and can update their knowledge within the subject area.
2. Skills
The student can apply central regulations of environmental law, is familiar with legal terms and can present and dicuss issues covered by the course. The student can explain and reflect on:
- Environmental dilemmas.
- Regulations to obtain knowledge of the environmental consequences of decisions and plans, such as Environmental Impact Assesments
- Reguations to promote environmental considerations and to prevent or reduce environmentally harmful activities.
- The principles of sustainable use in Biodiversity Act and provisions for habitat protection.
- Main features of the planning system in the Planning and Building Act.
3. General competance
The student can discuss fundamental subject matters, understand the role of different environmental administrative laws and their significance for the management of natural resources, discuss case studies, case law and administrative practice.
