Maximilian Schob presented his final PhD seminar on his research topic, 'Models for Spatial Data Landscapes: Geospatial Data Models for Landscape Architecture and Geodesign.
On February 15th, 2024, Maximilian Schob presented his final PhD seminar on his research topic, 'Models for Spatial Data Landscapes: Geospatial Data Models for Landscape Architecture and Geodesign.' Maximilian started his PhD journey in 2020, investigating the dynamic fusion of remote sensing technologies and spatial design practices. Supervised by Ramiz Hassan, alongside guidance from Joerg Rekittke, Maximilian's work has navigated the complex intersections of technology and design in shaping our built and natural environments. His research explorations have revolved around crafting a geodesign approach for landscape architecture and planning, leveraging geospatial data and insights from an array of disciplines including geodesign, landscape architecture, architecture, planning, geosciences, design, art, and visual cultures.
The final seminar served as a platform to provide feedback on the concluding stages of his thesis work and preparation for the trial lecture/public defense. Discussants Professor Pia Fricker from Aalto University in Finland and Professor Timothy Richardson from NMBU shared invaluable insights and offered constructive instructions on structuring Maximilian's final thesis and effectively communicating his findings with the landscape architecture community. Maximilian's seminar marks a significant milestone in his academic journey, paving the way for the end of his research efforts and contributions to the field of landscape architecture and geodesign.
