The Pharmacology Unit researches medicines for farmed fish, animal welfare and environmental toxins. We are responsible for the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine's teaching in pharmacology.
About the unit:
The teaching shall provide students with a basis for the correct prescription and use of drugs for the treatment of animals and provide students with a good basis for understanding the possible adverse effects of foreign substances (including drugs) on animals and the environment.
The unit's research is concentrated on the following areas:
- Use of drugs for farmed fish
- Analgesics and anesthetics
- Animal welfare with a focus on pain perception
- Dispersion and effects of environmental toxins
