When you apply to go on an exchange to one of our partner institutions, NMBU must share personal information about you with the institution in order for them to assess the application.
We share the following information with the partner institution:
- Direct identifying information such as name and passport number.
- Contact information such as address, email address and mobile number.
- Study-related information such as name of study programme, transcript, copy of diploma from university and confirmation of language skills or IELTS/TOEFL results.
- Possible letter of motivation.
We never transfer sensitive information.
Exchange within the EEA
Within the EEA area, all partner institutions commit themselves to the same regulations as NMBU. This means that your personal data must be used and protected at the host institution in the same way as it is used and protected at NMBU. You will find more information about the processing of personal data in your host institution's privacy statement.
Exchange outside the EEA area:
In principle, it is illegal to hand out/transfer personal data outside the EEA area. We can still share information if a valid transfer basis has been established. The transfer basis must ensure that your information is given the same protection as it receives in the EEA area. You will receive further information about the processing of your personal data during the application process for these areas.
